Kolkata, west bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee On Tuesday directed its officials to build houses for those who have been left out of the Centre’s scheme.housing scheme,’ said an officer.
During the meeting with state Panchayat Minister Pradeep Majumdar and senior officials, Banerjee stressed that since no funding would be available from the Center for the project, her government would not abide by any conditions imposed by the central authorities, he said. Will not accept.
“The state government has decided to build houses for all the people of the state deprived of the Centre’s housing scheme. The CM today issued strict instructions saying that the Central government is not providing any funds and will not impose any conditions.” He said.
The official said that the survey has already started to identify the needy people.
In a related development, the state government has decided to compensate over 9 lakh farmers affected by the recent floods and Cyclone Dana, Agriculture Minister Sovandeb Chattopadhyay said.
Banerjee also expressed dissatisfaction over the slow pace of survey being conducted by insurance companies and said the list of victims of the natural disaster was still being compiled.
