Odisha government distributes house allotment letters to 116 slum dwellers, ET RealEstate


Bhubaneswar: The Odisha The government on Tuesday distributed allotment letters among 116 beneficiaries of the Affordable Housing Project (AHP) for slum dwellers. State Housing and Urban Development Minister Krishna Chandra Mahapatra Allotment letters were distributed among the beneficiaries in a function here.

A total of 116 beneficiaries received their allotment letters, including 47 Chandrashekharpur AHPfor 36 Neelmadhab Housing AHPAnd 28 for Subudhipur Brunei Enclave AHP,

Addressing the gathering, Mahapatra said, “Owning a home in the capital city is a dream for many. Through BDA’s affordable housing schemes, we aim to provide shelter to the urban poor, not only housing but To ensure a better quality of life.”

These projects are equipped with proper infrastructure and basic amenities for a better life, he said.

He stressed the commitment of the Odisha government to improve the lives of slum dwellers.

He said the housing allotment was done in a transparent manner through a lottery system in the presence of an independent observer.

There is a plan to build 2,600 houses on 20 acres of land in Chandrashekharpur.

Of these, 820 houses have already been completed and 737 have been allotted to eligible beneficiaries, while the remaining 1,863 houses will be distributed in phases, the minister said.

Similarly, 1,200 houses are being developed in the Neelmadhab project near Care Hospital in the capital city. Construction of 960 houses has been completed, of which 543 have already been allotted to the beneficiaries. The remaining 657 houses will be allotted in the next phases.

Additionally, 342 houses have been constructed in Barunei Enclave in Subudhipur, out of which 28 houses have been handed over to the eligible recipients.

Mahapatra said redevelopment of Keshari Residency slum on 10 acres of land in Satyanagar is also in progress. Of the targeted 1,300 houses, 560 have been completed and 454 families have received their allotment. He said that the remaining 846 houses will be allotted in phases.
