“The project committee has approved the name of the scheme. We are waiting for the green signal from the state government to ensure that the launching event takes place on December 15,” said a JDA official.
Although there are some residential projects in the city that were completely developed by the JDA, the civic body has stopped developing residential schemes for the last four years. “After the Covid pandemic, this will be the first housing scheme to be developed by JDA. In this scheme, we will develop a total of 386 plots, out of which 36 plots will be reserved for LIG category and EWS.
“Plots will also be reserved for retail shops and commercial activities,” a JDA official said.
JDA officials have not yet been able to determine the reserve rates of the plots of this scheme. The civic body is likely to launch a lottery sometime in November 2025 to allot plots. Officials said three additional residential ventures are also under consideration of the JDA. Apart from the Kalwar Road scheme, the JDA plans to set up a residential scheme near Rohini Nagar within Manpura Tila village in Zone 11.
The authority has proposed two farmhouse projects: one at Govindapura Ropada under Zone 10 jurisdiction, and the other at Jayarampura under Zone 12 jurisdiction.
