Haryana government is preparing a blueprint to provide 100 square yard plots to two lakh beneficiaries

Chandigarh: The Naib Singh Saini-led Haryana Government The government is drafting a scheme to provide plots of 100 square yards to help people from low income groups build their own houses. “Dream of two lakh people Haryana Having their own home will soon become a reality. “The government led by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini is preparing the blueprint for this scheme,” an official statement said on Tuesday.

Under this initiative, eligible applicants without land will get plots of 100 square yards in villages. Below Chief Minister Rural Housing Scheme5,00,000 people have applied for plots in the state.

Eligible beneficiaries will get plots of 100 square yards in phases, the statement said, adding that two lakh persons will soon get the benefit.

It said J Ganesan, director general of the Housing for All Department, has held a meeting with the concerned officials to issue necessary guidelines regarding the scheme.

Ganesan said the main objective of the rural housing scheme is to provide plots of land to low-income families who do not have their own houses.

According to the statement, Ganesan said, “Successful implementation of the scheme will improve the living standards of poor families, enabling them to live a secure and dignified life in their homes.”

During the meeting, Ganesan also told the officials that all processes related to the scheme should be expedited to ensure that eligible people get its benefits as soon as possible.

Last week, Chief Minister Saini had held a meeting with senior officials in which Development and Panchayat Minister Krishna Lal Panwar and Urban Local Bodies Minister Vipul Goyal were also present.

In the meeting, the Chief Minister directed that in the areas where plots of 100 square yards will be allotted, all necessary facilities like paved roads, electricity, clean drinking water, street lights, parks and open green spaces should be ensured.

According to the official statement, the government has also made a provision to provide assistance to the beneficiaries in constructing houses on these 100 square yard plots.

Accordingly, financial assistance will be provided under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana To help (rural) beneficiaries build their own houses, it said.

During the meeting chaired by Ganesan, officials informed that 6,618 flats built by private developers for the EWS category will soon be allotted to applicants registered under the Chief Minister Urban Housing Scheme in eight districts under the first phase.
