New Delhi: Following the encouraging response to the flats offered in three recent housing schemes launched last month, Delhi Development Authority ,DDA) has given priority to developing green spaces around housing areas and repurposing unsold inventory where needed. The authority also plans to work with local bodies to ensure cleanliness in these areas.
“The Horticulture Department of DDA is busy in developing greenery around the housing areas to improve the quality of life of the buyers. Apart from this, additional finishing touches are being given to the housing blocks to add value. Delhi to carry out cleaning work. Apart from taking forward the Municipal Corporation flats or areas under their jurisdiction, we are leaving no stone unturned in ensuring green and clean surroundings in the areas under our jurisdiction,” said an official.
Officials said at least 1,650 of the approximately 9,000 flats proposed in Phase I cheap house housing scheme and middle class Housing Scheme 2024 is being sold on first come, first serve basis.
These flats in various categories are located in Jasola, Narela, Rohini, Loknayakpuram, Ramgarh and Siraspur. Moreover, out of 169 flats offered through e-auction in Dwarka Housing Scheme, more than 130 have been sold. These flats are under Penthouse, HIG, Super HIG and MIG categories in Sector 14, 16B and 19B of Dwarka.
“More than 1,200 LIGs and 440 ews flat Tickets were sold out in affordable housing and middle class housing schemes, with Rohini leading the way where all 708 LIG flats were sold, while around 250 flats were booked in Narela. Ramgarh also received an impressive response; Out of 183 LIG flats of the scheme, 153 flats were sold. In the EWS segment, around 300 flats were sold in Narela, and all the 139 flats offered in Loknayakpuram were also booked,” officials said.
“Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, who is constantly reviewing the status of housing schemes, also appreciated our efforts in this direction and prioritized the need to serve the poor and less-affluent sections by offering EWS and LIG flats at nominal rates. “Granted,” said an officer.
In Narela, the authority is working on developing educational institutions, metro rail corridors and improving road network connectivity, drainage, electricity connections, water supply and sewerage networks.
