KR Puram constituency The Association Welfare Federation has written an open letter to the Panchayat Development Officer (PDO), copies of which have been sent to key officials such as local MLAs (Members of the Legislative Assembly), MPs (Members of Parliament), ministers and civic officials. BBMP ,Greater Bengaluru Municipal Corporation), BWSSB (Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board), and BESCOM (Bangalore Electric Supply Company Limited). Emphasizing the urgency of these demands, federation founder VP Krishna said, “Our daily lives are severely disrupted due to poor infrastructure and lack of facilities.” basic amenitiesNow the time has come for the authorities to take responsibility and take action on these long pending issues.
One of the primary concerns raised by residents is the dire condition of the roads at Kithaganuru and Halehalli border. The roads are full of potholes, posing a constant threat of accidents and residents have demanded immediate repairs to ensure safe commuting.
Lack of online e-khata service has also been a major hurdle for property owners. Residents said the service has been suspended for more than a decade, leaving many properties in limbo.
Other important demands include daily garbage collection, better street lighting, storm water drainage system and access to Cauvery water supply. The letter also demands better public facilities like a police station, a post office, a public health center and BMTC bus services to connect the area to metro stations and other parts of the city.
Education and entertainment were also major points in the letter. Residents urged the government to strengthen local government schools by adding classes and approving higher classes up to class 10. He also demanded the establishment of a play area and public park for community activities.
The federation has requested that public grievance meetings be held every third Saturday to directly address residents’ concerns. “We are not asking for luxuries but basic amenities to live a dignified life,” said a resident.
