Noida:In the last nine days of Navratri, the Stamp and Registration Department registered 303 flats and collected stamp duty of Rs 103 crore. The number of registrations is almost three times that of normal days.

Assistant Inspector General of Registration (I) BS Verma said, “Usually, we register 10-20 flats every day. However, we registered three times more during Navratri as people consider it an auspicious time for important purchases. Let’s see. In a few days, we got 75-85 flats registered in a day.”

Apart from flats, 1,804 other properties were registered between October 3 and 11, taking the total to 2,107 property registrations.

The Stamps and Registration Department collected Rs 3,585 crore in 2023-24, up from Rs 3,018 crore in 2022-23. The department aims to raise Rs 4,880 crore in the current financial year.
