Jind: The Haryana Government The Chief Minister celebrated the birth anniversary of Maharishi Valmiki by organizing a state level program at Eklavya Stadium in Jind district on Sunday. Naib Singh Saini Attended as chief guest.
The Chief Minister paid tribute to Maharishi Valmiki by offering flowers on his portrait. After this he met the saints present at the function and received their blessings. On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced a grant of Rs 51 lakh for Maharishi Valmiki Bhawan in Narwana town of Jind district. He also said that assistance will also be provided to build a student hostel in Hisar.
CM Naib Singh Saini said that Maharishi Valmiki set ideal standards for a ruler in Ramayana and followed those principles. In line with the teachings of Maharishi Valmiki and under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government has worked for the upliftment of marginalized persons.
He said that in fulfillment of the promises made in its manifesto, the state government has implemented the classification of reservation within the Scheduled Castes into two categories: “Deprived Scheduled Castes” and “Other Scheduled Castes.”
He informed that half of the 20% reservation for Scheduled Castes in direct government recruitment will be allotted to disadvantaged Scheduled Caste candidates. He said that if suitable candidates from the deprived section are not available, the remaining posts will be filled from other Scheduled Caste candidates and vice versa.
The Chief Minister said that the State Government will set up Samrasata Heritage Centers in major cities to spread the teachings and messages of great personalities like Maharishi Valmiki, Sant Kabir Das, Sant Ravi Das and Baba Saheb Ambedkar.
The Chief Minister announced that the Haryana Government has constituted the Haryana State Safai Karmachari Commission to protect the interests of Safai Karamcharis. Employees will get a compensation of Rs 5 lakh in case of death while on duty and Rs 10 lakh in case of death while working in sewage.
The government is also committed to increasing the salaries of sanitation workers from Rs 16,000-17,000 to Rs 26,000-27,000 per month and ensuring that 50% of sanitation contracts go to sanitation workers and their groups.
CM said that 5 lakh houses will be built for the poor in both urban and rural areas. Under the Chief Minister Urban Housing Scheme, 30 square yard plots have been allotted to 15250 poor families. Additionally, houses are being built for the poor under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and Rs 80,000 is provided for house repair under the Dr BR Ambedkar Housing Renovation Scheme.
He said that 48 lakh BPL (below poverty line) families in Haryana get free grains. Under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, 13 lakh poor families have been given LPG connections and the state government is providing gas cylinders at a concessional rate of Rs 500 to BPL families. Additionally, “Happy Cards” have been issued to poor families, allowing them to travel 1,000 kilometers annually for free in Haryana Roadways buses.
Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Krishna Kumar Bedi criticized the previous Bhupinder Singh Hooda government for not acting on the Punjab and Haryana High Court verdict on the matter and claimed that it had worked to reduce reservation rather than increase it. .
