DTCP bans sale and purchase in Mahira Homes societies in Gurugram

Gurugram: Town and Country Planning Department (DTCPBan on buying and selling of properties in two societies developed by Mahira Homes Group In Sector 103 and 104.

The group came under scrutiny after failing to deposit external and internal development charges (EDC/IDC). Earlier, a show cause notice was issued to the developer on August 11, 2023, giving it an opportunity to repay the dues and resolve the disputes related to the licensing documents. However, the builder ignored the orders.

This happened after landowners lodged a complaint accusing the builder of obtaining the license using forged documents. Mahira Group and Czar Buildwell housing license In 2019 and 2021 respectively.

Citing the negligent attitude of the builder, the DTCP director asked the District Deputy Commissioner to ban all transactions related to land or flats in both the societies.

Earlier, H-Rera had appointed experts from National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC) to conduct technical and feasibility assessments to expedite the stalled Mahira Homes projects.

NBCC experts conducted site inspections to evaluate the construction progress and actual site conditions. Arun Kumar, president of H-RERA (Gurgaon), had said that NBCC’s comprehensive report will determine future actions.

These stalled projects have led to over 5,000 home buyers protesting against the developer, leaving them with uncertainties about their investments.

Amid rising tensions between developers and regulatory authorities, affected residents are hoping for a quick resolution and strict implementation of housing norms.

Meanwhile, this action underlines the DTCP’s resolve to hold developers accountable for non-compliance with housing rules. Experts say such measures are important to protect the interests of home buyers and curb fraudulent practices in the real estate sector.
