representative image New Delhi: After receiving encouraging response for the flats offered in all three housing schemes Launched in Jasola in August, Delhi Development Authority ,DDA) has finalized a comprehensive plan for maintenance and upkeep of civic services in various pockets including phases 9A, 9B and 6.
While the DDA is still in correspondence with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi to handle sanitation services in these areas, it has decided to choose agencies to carry out these works for a year for the convenience of residents.
The project includes maintenance of 320 high income group (HIG) multistorey flats in Pocket-9A by desilting the internal sewer lines using super-sucker machines, besides cleaning the drains. DDA will also assign tasks for daily sweeping, sweeping and cleaning of internal roads and common areas in Jasola Heights.
An agency will be in charge of daily maintenance in DDA HIG flats in Pocket-9B for one year and will look after complaints related to external and internal services. The repair and maintenance of the local shopping center and a community hall in Pocket 6 is part of the wider project.
An official said, “There have been regular complaints from residents about the lack of proper cleanliness of the internal lanes in their flat areas, and our aim is to resolve all the cleanliness issues and make this place an ideal place to live.” Is.”
In August, the DDA surveyed the area and decided to completely replace the roads, drains and footpaths in Jasola. The authority has finalized a separate proposal for repair of roads and construction of missing drains and footpaths in District Center Jasola and Pockets I and II with an estimated cost of Rs 3.3 crore.
“The project will include repairing perennial waterlogging points, damaged roads and construction of missing drains to avoid water accumulation. We will soon invite tenders again for the project,” an official said. The project, which will also have another phase, was launched after discussions with residents’ welfare associations and residents of the areas.
The open area behind the district centre, near the parking lot, faces the problem of waterlogging and the drain network and footpath in front of the center are also missing, the survey said. The project also aims to provide pedestrian walkways throughout the colony.
“On Church Road, connecting with Jasola Village Road, the DDA had constructed concrete construction about nine years ago. But due to the movement of heavy vehicles and trucks at the sewage treatment plant, it has been damaged at many places, and has been in use for a long time. There is a demand to repair it properly,” said an official, adding that the DDA will also reconstruct the damaged drains before repairing the road up to Jasola Sports Complex Road.
