“By the end of 2024, over 300,000 homes worth Rs 510,000 crore, spread over 485 million sq ft, are expected to be sold,” real estate consultant JLL India said in a statement on Wednesday.
It said housing sales remained healthy and reached a new nine-month (January-September) peak in 2024, with around 230,000 homes worth Rs 380,000 crore sold in the top seven cities during the period.
With the fourth quarter set to coincide with the festive season and housing demand expected to remain strong, JLL India said it expects sales for the October-December 2024 quarter to potentially be at or above the previous three-quarter average of 75,000 units. It will be more than what it would be in total. Sales of approximately 305,000 units per year.
“With this, the sales realization value for the 485 million sq ft area to be sold for the full year 2024 is expected to reach around Rs 510,000 crore,” the consultant said.
