“The eight borewells of the society installed during construction will remain operational as they are the sole water source for the entire society. These borewells will continue to function uninterrupted to ensure stable water supply to all the residents. In contrast, the private borewells, which are operated by individual Those installed by the villa owners are set to be closed. The owners of these private borewells have been given a deadline of 15 days to close their wells”, said Ankita Rai, hydrologist of the groundwater department.
Amrapali Leisure Valley Society has around 800 villas, out of which 700 have already been handed over to buyers. Despite this, the society has not yet been given the completion certificate by the concerned authority. Apart from this, GNIDA has not even given water connection to the society. To address this problem, AOA is supplying water to all residents through the use of 8 shared borewells.
However, AOA had not obtained the necessary permission from the ground water department for these borewells. Apart from the AOA’s borewells, more than 50 villa owners within the society have also installed their own borewells. As a result, the groundwater department issued notices to both the villa owners and the AOA, seeking their response. AOA has replied to the notice.
Rai further said that, according to the AOA, some of the shared borewells were installed by the builder and some by NBCC. AOA itself never installed any borewell. “At present, the responsibility of water supply lies with NBCC. The AOA further stated that the builder is no longer involved in the project. As a result, they believe that only NBCC is held accountable for any issues related to water supply. Can be arrested and fined.” ” Rai said.
According to departmental officials, a decision will be taken soon in the matter and action will be taken to impose fine on the responsible party. The Ground Water Department has also written a letter to the Greater Noida Authority seeking answers on the issue of water supply.
